The Grand Scale: Religion — WB Issue 2, p. 9 (pp. 16-17)
Every religion has:
- Problem - what the religion is generally trying to address
- Solution - a method of overcoming the Problem prescribed by religion
- Goal - a reward for following the Solution, where the solution leads.
- Examplars - faithful people who are role models for how to overcome the Problem by following the Solution to reach the Goal
Every religion can be:
- Centralized - ability to commune with the higher power rests with
either a single leader or a chosen few (e.g. Catholicism)
- Decentralized - a broad mix of people can reach the higher power (e.g. Islam)
