Technological advancement is vastly different across Ankmaar. Jutes of Weisdemarr can claim technological superiority in most fields, but some still avoid them.

The general level of technology is comparable to early 20th century on Earth, which comes with a set of assumptions:

• late industrialization age
• rapid evolution in transportation accessibility and effectiveness
• a vast body of both available and ongoing scientific research that leads to imminent and pretty much exponential technological progress.

All of this said, there are some technologies that certain governments tend to keep under either close scrutiny or in downright secrecy. This can be considered:

• Jutes: Advanced airship materials and metallurgy available
• Weisdemarr: Advanced cogitomancy (thought technology, known to very few)
• Jutes of Weisdemarr: great corps of Artifeat Magi and Mechamancers.
• Northern Orthenborough of Dunsterton: Masters of industrialization; only holders of leviathan detection and leviathan-derived technology
• Kadyaks of Olgia: technology of liquified aether - superfuel; other technologies based on the Old Kingdom’s knowledge
• Luari of Chevrey: city engine/railway/megastructure engineering, advanced bioligology (science of binding between biological creatures) and zoomancy
• Yamoto of Matsubawa: Advanced weather control technology (storm induction and storm shielding)
• Astellians of Isla de la Plata: Navy and Aer stealth materials and tactics; advanced terrathermal and aquaelectro power
• Valenca of Riglia: advanced structural engineering and deepwater navigation; leviathan-repulsive materials

You might notice Norse and Elladian inputs “ignored”, but that is not so. Elladians have always concentrated their attention less on technology and more on metaphysics, feeling free to enjoy the advancements of other nations while sharing their philosophies.

At the same time, Norse people of Ri Tjaria try to be welcoming to newcomers from all backgrounds, steadily progressing in all fields of technology.

Of course, some of these technologies - along with the mechamancers or artifeats that are capable of engineering and supporting it - permeates from one nation to another. Some of the Luari engineering went into the great railway network of Weisdemarr, while Chevrey itself enjoys - and depends on - liquified aether provided by Olgian residents. Terrathermal plants have been created in Maenland and Bachland, while Valenca did their own spin on fabled Dunstertonian approach to industrialization (collaborating quietly on more tricky subject of leviathan study as well).

The age of Aer and Auto and Rail is here; liquified aether can power most marvelous technology, while electricity can make even marvelous technology mundate, and leviathans seem to posses answers to many a secret.
